VANNER, the group that captured the hearts of many with their debut track 'Peak Time,' is back with a new release that showcases their diverse talents.

On January 30 KST, VANNER is set to drop their highly anticipated second mini album, 'CAPTURE THE FLAG.' In anticipation of the album's release, VANNER recently sat down for a chat at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to share insights about their upcoming work.

VANNER first gained widespread recognition by clinching the championship on JTBC's entertainment program 'Peak Time' in April 2023. Their flawless skills and remarkable teamwork earned them acclaim from both fans and the general public. Following their success, their debut mini-album released in August sold a remarkable 110,000 copies within the first week. Additionally, their first fan concert in October sold out almost immediately after ticket sales opened.

"This album takes off from where the previous one left us," explains Seongguk. "While the previous album was about embarking on a new journey, this one tells the story of young people starting their adventure by playing the 'Capture the Flag game' and hitting the jackpot. We wanted to portray VANNER's carefree side as they enjoy their journey."

The title track "JACKPOT" boasts the most challenging and physically demanding choreography among all of VANNER's songs. While their previous performances showcased refreshing charisma, this time, they are aiming to exude sensuality and sophistication. "We had a strong desire to showcase our charisma and elevate our performance and live skills beyond previous levels, which is why we focused on perfecting our sharp group dance," added Hyesung and Taehwan.

VANNER embarked on a challenging journey before 'Peak Time,' juggling part-time jobs during the day while rehearsing late into the night. They persevered through difficulties and exhaustion, taking one step at a time, all while eagerly awaiting the day they could step onto the stage. Their unwavering trust and reliance on each other were the driving forces that carried them through.

"Although it's been a while since we've been together, I believe that mutual respect and consideration are crucial for team members," reflected Gon. "Particularly, Taehwan hyung sets a kind and respectful tone, which I think the other members also absorbed. Respect and consideration have always been ingrained in us, forging a close bond that enables us to endure."

VANNER, who made their debut in 2019, is already celebrating their fifth anniversary. They have overcome a period of relative obscurity to gradually gain recognition among the public. The group is poised to continue their journey into the future.

"Job satisfaction is at its peak. With many staff members supporting us and growing fan love, I have come to understand why I became an idol," Gon shared.
