Lee Byung-hun has become a victim of burglary at his Los Angeles residence.
American entertainment media TMZ reported on the 29th (local time) that burglars broke into Lee's house by shattering a sliding glass door and looted the property.
Fortunately, Lee was not at home during the break-in. The breakage was discovered by a staff member of Lee's agency, who then reported it to the police. The exact items stolen and the amount of loss have not been confirmed yet.
The police suspect that this incident is part of a series of burglaries targeting wealthy neighborhoods in LA, rather than specifically aiming at Lee Byung-hun's house. Notably, actress Lena Waithe, who lives nearby, also experienced a burglary where she lost jewelry worth $200,000 (approximately 267.4 million KRW).
As the LA police continue their investigation, no arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile, Lee Byung-hun, who recently welcomed his second child after eight years of marriage, has chosen 'Heavy Snow' by writer No Hee-kyung as his next drama project.
LA is such a cesspool of crime, drugs, homelessness, and urban decay. Lee Byung-hun should've just stayed in Korea. At least it's safer. Gov. Newsom and his liberal policies has destroyed a former great city. I was in K-town last summer and was shocked how much worse it's gotten. Many parts of it look like a third-world country. So many businesses have either gone out-of-business, have bars on their windows and doors, or have some random homeless guy laying out in front. Shame.
