BLACKPINK's Jennie continues to show strong performance as a soloist on musical platforms has once again etched her name into the annals of music history, this time on the renowned US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The latest Billboard chart data as of January 9 reveals that Jennie's collaborative track 'One Of The Girls' with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp has climbed a remarkable 31 spots to land at number 69 on this week's 'Hot 100' chart. This rise is notable considering the song debuted 6 months ago in June 2023 as part of the HBO series "The Idol," and it achieved this success without any formal promotion. Entering the chart for the first time last week, this surge not only cements BLACKPINK's Jennie as the highest-charting K-Pop female soloist in Billboard Hot 100 history but also marks 'One Of The Girls' as the top-performing song of 2023 by a 3rd Gen female act on the Billboard Hot 100. It surpasses 'MOONLIGHT SUNRISE' by Twice, which had previously peaked at position 84.
With this, Jennie is now the highest peaking K-pop female soloist on the Billboard Hot 100. She surpassed Rose's "On The Ground" (#70) and LISA's "LALISA" (#84).
Jennie's exploits within the Billboard Hot 100 don't end there, as "One Of The Girls" became the Highest-Charting Song by a K-Pop act this week, surpassing Jungkook’s “Standing Next To You”, whose current position is number 70.
Additionally, JENNIE's ‘One Of The Girls’ now ties LISA’s 'Money' as the Longest-Charting songs by K-Pop Female Soloists on the Billboard Hot 100 with 2 weeks each.
On the other hand, the hit "One Of The Girls" has experienced a resurgence in popularity, shooting to number 12 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, rising 25 positions from the previous week and currently remaining on the chart for 13 weeks. While on the Billboard Global 200 chart the song made a noteworthy comeback, climbing 41 places to secure position 15 with a total of 11 weeks on the chart.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK's JENNIE!
CL is the first female kpop soloist to make it on the chart, with a song she wrote herself.
