On January 17, Samsung held its biannual unpacked event, revealing the lineup of new devices. During this event, Samsung introduced its Galaxy S24 series lineup, which includes the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra geared with new Galaxy AI.
To introduce the new tech, Samsung also unveiled various content to delve deeper into the functions. However, one of the contents - the pre-order broadcast - took an amusing turn as a broadcast accident added an unexpected dose of laughter.
TV personality Kangnam sat with two broadcast hosts to show off one of the functions of the S24 Ultra when the hilarious mishap happened. The three hosts showed off the real-time audio translation function and proceeded with a skit to translate a Korean phrase into Japanese.
Kangnam played the role of a Japanese cafe worker, while the male host played the role of a Korean customer. The host asked in Korean, "Hello, I'm trying to order an Ice Americano. How much would it be?" When the female host used the "Translate" feature on the Galaxy S24, the device unexpectedly uttered a phrase resembling English profanity. Caught off guard by the translation's striking similarity to the phrase "F**k You," the host quickly turned off the audio to avoid further embarrassment. The incident highlighted an amusing moment in the device's translation system, where the beginning of the Japanese phrase was misinterpreted as offensive language.
The three MCs were caught off guard and tried to mend the situation with laughter while Kangnam suddenly began singing the Korean anthem. After all three of them bowed to apology and restarted the skit.
Video of the incident:
Korean netizens couldn't help but burst out into laughter and commented, "lol!" F**k You, lol," "This is crazy hilarious," "The app caught the female host at the beginning saying 'Hankook-uh (Korean language) Cue" and translated that as 'F*** You' lol," "The 'Korean Cue' that the female host said became 'FU' lol," "It's the female host's fault," "This is so funny," "Kangnam singing the Korean anthem after is so funny," and "lol, this is so funny."
the woman should not say "cue" after she has pressed the button, that's why it caught the word😪
