NewJeans to perform at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards'

Get ready to dance with NewJeans at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards'!

On November 8 EST, the 'BBMAs' announced its first wave of performing artists for this year's ceremony, including Bebe Rexha, David Guetta, Peso Pluma, and NewJeans! For the K-Pop girl group, this will mark their first ever appearance at the 'BBMAs' since debut. The girls plan to perform both "Super Shy" and "OMG", and will also be the first K-Pop group after BTS to perform on the major American music award ceremony. 

Meanwhile, NewJeans are nominated in the following categories at this year's 'BBMAs' - 'Top Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Artist', 'Top Global K-Pop Artist', 'Top Global K-Pop Song', and 'Top K-Pop Album'.

This year, the '2023 Billboard Music Awards' will take place entirely online on November 19. Performances, award announcements, and acceptances will all be aired from all across the globe via SNS and BBMAs.watch.

Ooh, I'm actually excited to see this.

Kinda confused about the category titles though. I understand that the "Top Global Artist" means top foreign, aka non-US, artist but what does "Top Global Kpop Artist" mean? If it's Kpop then they're by definition non-US, so it's redundant. Is this somehow different from a Kpop artist that isn't "global"? I know they're capable of having a Kpop category without the word "global" because the last one here doesn't have it.
