The group NiziU has shared their thoughts on releasing a new single in Korea for the first time in 1 year and 5 months.
Recently, NiziU members Mako, Miihi, Maya, and Rima sat down with Ilgan Sports at the JYP Entertainment headquarters in Bangi-dong, Seoul. They discussed their experiences at the '1st Korea Grand Music Awards' held on November 17 last year, as well as their thoughts on their upcoming release and future plans.
NiziU will make their Korean comeback on March 31st with their second Korean single, "Love Line". This marks their return following their debut Korean single "Press Play" and its title track "Heartless", released in October 2023. The new single includes two tracks: the title song "Love Line" and "What If."
Regarding "Love Line", Mako explained, “The song is based on the idea of being connected to your destined partner by a red thread, and we compare that to the fate line on a palm. We’ve expressed NiziU’s unique emotion through it.”
The members also expressed excitement about the second track, "What If". Maya shared, “Personally, I really love this song. It has a band bass sound, and the lyrics are beautiful. It feels connected to Love Line, so I hope everyone enjoys both songs.”
Rima added, “It’s a song that feels like it could appear in a Japanese animation. It gives me a really pleasant feeling when I listen to it. Since this is our first comeback in Korea, it was fun incorporating the charm of Japanese music and presenting it in Korean. I’m really curious about the reaction and can’t wait to show it.”
With "Love Line", NiziU is officially kicking off their 2025 activities. They also have a solo concert tour planned in Japan, scheduled to begin in the second half of this year and continue into early next year.
When asked about their goals for the tour, Mako said, “This will be our first solo tour this year. I’m excited to visit places we haven’t been before and spend happy times connecting with new fans. I hope we can share NiziU’s unique color with more people.”
The members also expressed a desire to visit the hometowns they haven’t had a chance to yet. “Nina was born in the U.S., and we’d love to go to Seattle, her hometown, and do activities there together someday,” they said.
Additionally, they shared their hopes of performing in Korea: “We have Korean version songs, so we’d like to expand the setlist and hold a concert fully in Korean, so we can actively engage with our Korean fans.”
