On November 15, LIMELIGHT's Gaeun (age 19) was unexpectedly hospitalized due to sudden abdominal pain, preventing her from taking the scheduled College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
On the same day, her agency, 143 Entertainment, stated, "Gaeun experienced sudden abdominal pain and visited the emergency room. Due to high fever and elevated inflammation levels, she has decided not to take the CSAT."
Gaeun was advised to remain hospitalized for an additional 2-3 days.
Meanwhile, other idol artists such as Kep1er's Yeseo, Rocket Punch's Dahyun, Weeekly's ZOA, TripleS' Lee Ji Woo, and Gong Yu Bin all took the 2024 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) on November 16.
This year's exam is the first in four years to be conducted without the required usage of masks. The CSAT took place in 1,279 exam rooms across 84 testing zones nationwide, with a total of 504,588 examinees, a decrease of 3,442 from the previous year.
The CSAT, or College Scholastic Ability Test, serves as a pivotal examination gauging a student's preparedness for college studies, acting as a fundamental graduation requirement for high school students. On exam day, measures are taken to accommodate the testing schedule, including a delayed opening of the Korean stock market and adjustments to metro services and traffic patterns. These changes are implemented to ensure that students, who undergo this annual assessment, encounter minimal disruptions and can arrive on time for the examination.
Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart devices (including smartwatches), tablets, and earphones with communication (Bluetooth) capabilities are not allowed in the exam room. If an examinee brings an electronic device to the exam room, they must submit it to the supervisor before the start of the first session and can retrieve it after the exam ends. Failure to submit the device and being caught with it during the exam will be treated as a violation, resulting in the invalidation of the exam. Only analog watches without payment or communication functions (including Bluetooth) and electronic display screens (LCD, LED, etc.) are allowed.
