A 15-year-old girl is making headlines after saving 5 people following her death.
On November 28, the official government organ donation organization Korea Organ Donation Agency revealed 15-year-old student Lee Ye Won, who passed away last May, was able to save 5 lives after her death because of her organ donation, and it's become one of the top trending stories. Lee Ye Won reportedly died following severe damage to her brain from a cerebral hemorrhage, and her heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys were donated.
Lee Ye Won's parents decided to donate her organs as they stated she'd always been a very kind and helpful person, and she wanted to contribute to the world in a positive way. Her father stated, "I hope the people who got a new life because of Ye Won will live their lives to the fullest."
Lee Ye Won was the older of two daughters and was at the top of her class before her death. She's said to have been passionate about astronomy, and her dream was to become a professor. Her school gave Lee Ye Won, who was in her final year of middle school, an honorary diploma and prize.

This feels so bittersweet, a young, brilliant girl whose time on Earth was too short but who will continue to live through others somehow. RIP.
