On October 11 KST, ATTRAKT, the talent agency representing the girl group FIFTY FIFTY, announced that its CEO, Jun Hong Joon, has filed a police complaint against an individual known as Mr. A. The complaint, filed at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, accuses Mr. A of defamation by means of providing false information during his appearance on SBS' investigative show 'Unanswered Questions.'
During the episode in question centered around the conflict surrounding FIFTY FIFTY, Mr. A, identified as an 'internal official', criticized the CEO's involvement with the group. He tossed accusations questioning CEO Jun's level of commitment to FIFTY FIFTY prior to their debut. He stated, "(CEO Jeon) never attended the end-of-month evaluation until the girls debuted. Why did he suddenly start calling himself FIFTY FIFTY’s dad?"
In response, an official from ATTRAKT released a statement saying, "The crux of the issue is that Mr. A is an unknown. His identity and his alleged employment with our company is ambiguous at best. We will not be lenient; we plan to file a criminal complaint against Mr. A for his false interview."
The girl group FIFTY FIFTY has been on a hiatus following their global hit 'CUPID' due to an ongoing contractual disagreement with Attract. The group had requested a temporary injunction against ATTRAKT in an attempt to suspend their exclusive contract. Unfortunately for the group, their request was dismissed by the court back in August. With the latest developments, the future of the group and their relationship with ATTRAKT remains uncertain. Further details will surely surface as the complaint against Mr. A progresses further into the legal system.
