The final interview with the late Sulli will be released four years posthumously.
The documentary film 'To Sulli,' which contains the final appearance and interview of the late idol, will be unveiled for the first time at the 28th Busan International Film Festival.
On September 5, Senior Programmer Nam Dong Chul attended the press conference for the 28th Busan International Film Festival, which was held online, and announced the invited films, major events, guests, and more.
On this day, the Wide Angle Documentary Showcase announced the inclusion of 'To Sulli' in its lineup. Described by the organizers as a "captivating topic work," the documentary is particularly poignant as it features the final interview with the late Sulli.
Audiences will be granted an intimate look into Sulli's innermost thoughts and experiences through this revealing interview from 2019, marking one of her last in-depth conversations.
Initially, this project was titled 'Persona: Sulli' and was envisioned as a part of the 'Persona' anthology series' second season. In this unique series, one actor is the muse for five distinct short films, each helmed by a different director. The inaugural season, spotlighting IU, debuted in 2019 and received widespread praise.
While filming the second short of 'Persona: Sulli' in October 2019, tragedy struck as Sulli unexpectedly passed away. The production was consequently suspended and remained unreleased. Reports initially suggested that the film might find a home on platforms such as Netflix. However, it was eventually decided that 'To Sulli' would first appear at the Busan International Film Festival.
Sulli initially rose to fame as a child actor in the 2005 SBS drama 'Seodongyo.' Her popularity surged when she became a member of SM Entertainment's girl group f(x) in 2009. Following her departure from the group in 2015, she became a successful solo artist and entertainer. Sadly, her promising career was cut short due to her untimely death in October 2019.
Meanwhile, the 28th Busan International Film Festival will commence on October 4 and run until October 13 at the Busan Cinema Center.
Love you Sulli. 💚
