Actor Nam Goong Min has done it again with his ongoing MBC Fri-Sat drama 'My Dearest', which has officially surpassed 10% in nationwide viewership ratings as of the latest episode aired on August 25.
'My Dearest' tells the stories of those who struggle to reclaim their lives in the aftermath of the Qing invasion of Joseon. Nam Goong Min takes center stage as the mysterious man Lee Jang Hyun, alongside Ahn Eun Jin, Lee Hak Joo, Lee Da In, and more.
In the beginning, 'My Dearest' was met with a lukewarm response from viewers, starting out with an average viewership rating of 5.4%. The rating fell down to its lowest during episode 2 at 4.3%, before quickly climbing to 8.4% last week with the airing of episodes 5 and 6.
Now, episode 7 of 'My Dearest', aired on August 25, has finally reached double digits in average viewership ratings both nationwide and citywide, once again proving Nam Goong Min's status as "an actor viewers can trust".
In fact, some drama fans initially chose not to tune into 'My Dearest' due to the story's second female lead, Lee Da In, whose family's history of stock manipulation remains a weighty controversial issue in the Korean entertainment industry.
However, it wasn't long before Nam Goong Min's enrapturing performance as Lee Jang Hyun once again drew in viewers to him. Netizens couldn't help but comment, "After episode 4, everything just blows up", "Nam Goong Min... who is this man..?", "Every single drama Nam Goong Min has ever done is a 'Daesang' drama", "Nam Goong Min's eye for projects is top-tier in this industry", "Guess it's time for me to rewatch 'Stove League' while I wait for more episodes to drop", and more.
Meanwhile, 'My Dearest' airs every Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50 PM KST on MBC.
I actually wonder if he even have a show that did not get a good viewership? cause I always read about good ratings for his projects
