BLACKPINK has just marked another unprecedented milestone in the history of K-pop and Asian music in general, demonstrating not only their immense popularity and impact, but also that their music is capable of breaking barriers and even surpassing them.
According to Touring Data, BLACKPINK has sold more than 1 million tickets in just 44 of their 64 shows on their ongoing world tour, making 'Born Pink' the first tour by an Asian female act in history to surpass 1 million ticket sales. Furthermore, it's the first tour by a female group to surpass 1 million ticket sales since the Spice Girls' "Spiceworld" tour in 1998.
In an impressive feat, BLACKPINK, during their global tour, has earned the distinction of staging the highest-grossing concert by a group in history ($9.989M), surpassing the previous record held by BTS ($9.029M). The girl group didn't just stop there; they also set new records, including the highest grossing tour by a girl group, surpassing legendary bands like Spice Girls, TLC, and Destiny's Child. They became the first girl group to exceed $100 million in ticket sales, among other remarkable achievements.
Interestingly, BLACKPINK has already amassed $186.7 million in their world tour and still has 20 more shows to go, so more records are coming.
As a blink myself I’m kinda disappointed with this tour..some of the performances weren’t worth paying that much to see..the only members who were giving or at least trying were Lisa and Rose..
I love Blackpink and I still really care about the members a lot but I’m not gonna lie it’s hard to just ignore everything that has not been going well.
At this point I just want the girls to pursue whatever they want the most.
