A young trot singer has opened up about dealing with hate comments.
On 'Dr. Oh's Golden Clinic,' young trot singer Hwang Seung Ah shared a rather painful story of having dealt with abominable hate comments as a 9-year-old. She first appeared on TV and gained public attention through 'Miss Trot 2' back in 2020 as the program's youngest contestant.
Since delivering her audition piece, the young singer began receiving a flood of hate comments, including one that said, "she looks like a North Korean kid," according to her mother.
In a clinical diagnosis with Dr. Oh Eun Young, it was revealed that Hwang Seung Ah showed a higher-than-average score when it came to responding abilities, with "30 points being normal and 70 points meaning the person is sharp-witted." The young trot singer scored well over 95 points, showing extreme social sensitivity. The doctor concluded that there must have been a reason why.
Hwang Seung Ah spoke up and said: "I only went on 'Miss Trot' for fun and ended up being unexpectedly bombarded with hate comments."
She continued, "I did my best and still failed, so that was why I cried, but there were many people who saw that as a bad thing. I am still unsure what I did wrong."
"The worst was when they badmouthed my parents and wrote why I came on the show when I didn't even know how to sing. I even regretted starting the trot genre," shared the singer. "It was most hurtful when they compared me to other people as well."
Fortunately, Hwang Seung Ah has since found other ways to deal with the issue and remarks that she now "think of the hate commenters as insignificant."
Netizens in the comments section showed support for the singer, with words such as: "Just because you're on TV, that doesn't mean you should be able to deal with these comments. Is it okay then for non-celebrities to go to office day jobs and withstand verbal and physical abuse from your co-workers and bosses, just because you're earning money through that route?"
You really got to be freaking loser to send hate comments to a nine-year-old. wtf?!
