Stray Kids Fans Rally Under #ProtectFelix, Call on JYP Entertainment to Address Death Threats
Recently, it has been announced that Stray Kids will hold their first offline fansign in China for their recent comeback. This will be their first time visiting the country and seeing their massive Chinese fanbase. This should have been a joyous occasion. However disturbing news have come out regarding this event.
It has come out that an akgae fan has made a disturbing post on Weibo, the largest social media platform in China. They wrote a threat against one of the Stray Kids members, Felix, citing the actions they would commit once they get into the fansign. This post has blown up with hundreds of likes and comments of support.
An akgae is a Korean term that refers to someone who only supports one member while being maliciously cruel to the rest of the group. They believe that the other members are a threat to their favorite and will do anything to bring them down. Akgaes have been involved in numerous harassment campaigns and have caused several issues in the past.
Notably, an incident occurred when one of the EXO’s akgaes used a laser to attempt to blind another member when they were performing. Now, another akgae has threatened to do the same thing to Felix.
Upon discovery of this threat, Stays (Stray Kids’ fandom name) has started trending and sending templates urging JYP Entertainment to take action against the threats and protect the members. The #ProtectFelix hashtag has been trending on Twitter with numerous people calling out JYP Entertainment for its incompetency. They hope that the company will see this and take action by enforcing security and issuing a warning against anyone who poses a threat to the members.

It sucks how worse this is getting, no idol no matter what deserves threats or 'deat* threats' like this. I don't care how much you dislike someone or how negatively you think of them. This behaviour isn't okay and should be investigated and brought to court due to the length of some of threats. I appreciate fans reminding others to report, but the companies should do more to, and remind us every now and then about how to do it, and how to properly report
