On June 5, 2023, MAMAMOO's company confirmed what fans have been speculating just days prior that thegroups world tour will be made into a documentary movie titled 'MAMAMOO: MY CON THE MOVIE'. The announcement about the first official screenings of 'MAMAMOO: MY CON THE MOVIE' came through the group's fan café. The company conveyed the news in a simple manner, stating, "We are informing you of the screening of 'MAMAMOO: MY CON THE MOVIE'." This suggests that, in line with their previous behavior, the members of the girl group are likely to make several appearances at various film screenings in South Korea. This was a tradition they upheld with the past release of their voluntary work, "Where Are We Now".
According to the information posted "MAMAMOO: MY CON THE MOVIE" will be first exclusively premiering at CGV Theaters on the 21st of June, and tickets can be reserved through domestic ticketing sites. The estimate runtime of the music documentary will be around 2 hours and 4 minutes.
After the domestic screenings, the documentary is also scheduled to head overseas in August, and fans are highly anticipating the documentary which goes behind the scenes of MAMAMOO's first world tour. The world tour began last November starting in Seoul. Over the past weekend, the US leg of the tour had a closing show in Lost Angeles. Prior to the release of the movie, MAMAMOO is set to hold their 'MY CON' encore concert in Seoul on the 16th, 17th and 18th
Unsurprisingly, the announcement didn't include any information on the documentary's release on international streaming platforms later on. Many fans are hopeful that both the new documentary and the 2002 MAMAMOO's "Where Are We Now" documentary depicting the groups 7 years in the industry will both be available for all international audiences via Netflix soon.
MAMAMOO is continuing to make sure their fans are well fed with content.
This is going to be so special 🥹 my con being their first world tour and many fans that became fans during the pandemic plus pre-pandemic moos that haven’t seen them live in years coming together to experience mamamoo stage after stage. The movie is going to be an opportunity introducing people to these 4 amazing women, and a piece to reminisce over the amazing concert experience for everyone that had the chance to attend
