Former Super Junior member Kangin talked about his plans to resume activities in the future and revealed that he recently renewed his contract with SM Entertainment.
The YouTube channel 'Others' Lives' recently uploaded a video titled "Ep. 4 Kangin, 7 years of hiatus/living as Kim Young Woon thereafter," where Kangin gave an update on what he's been doing since leaving Super Junior and living as Kim Young Woon, an ordinary citizen.
Kangin has not been active in the entertainment industry since 2016 following his DUI controversy and ultimately departed from Super Junior in 2019. Kangin, who has been on hiatus for seven years, talked about the plans for future activities and shared, "It's not an issue that I can decide on my own. It's hard for me to even say 'if the chance is given' because I still haven't forgiven myself. I know I received love back then, but I was immature. I also am well aware I made the same mistake repeatedly."
Kangin continued to explain, "I stopped working in 2016, so I wasn't active for around seven years. I didn't have any financial income but had no trouble living. People might misunderstand, but I didn't have many expenses. I didn't spend money."
In the video, Kangin also revealed how he renewed his contract with SM Entertainment. He explained, "They told me 'your contract is ending at this time' so I asked 'Then what happens?' and they replied, 'we need to renew'. I said 'Really?' and they said 'yeah.' I felt so grateful. So people ask me, 'You're still a part of SM?'"
Lastly, when asked about what he wants to do in the future, Kangin replied, "I'm not on social media too often...but I think there are fans who are waiting for me so I want to update them. If I can, I want to greet them through YouTube or something."
Glad to see he is doing well. Hope nothing but the best for him and his endeavors.
