Controversy seems to be brewing after Sung Han Bin, who placed second on Mnet's audition program 'Boys Planet,' expressed his gratitude by directly mentioning Ravi's name.
The final debut group was announced on 'Boys Planet,' which aired on April 20. On this day, 1st place Zhang Hao, 3rd place Seok Matthew, 4th place Ricky, 5th place Park Gun Wook, 6th place Kim Tae Rae, 7th place Kim Guy Vin, 8th place Kim Ji Woong, and 9th place Han Yu Jin became members of the new group ZEROBASEONE.
Sung Han Bin placed second in the final, solidifying his place in the debut group on the show. During his gratitude speech, Sung Han Bin said, "I sincerely thank all the Star Creators (the viewers) who have been with me today. I am able to be here today thanks to all the people who believed in me and have been supporting me in this long journey. I really believe it is not simple and easy to have the heart to support someone. I really believe that each precious vote gave birth to this proud result."
He then added, "Studio Glide family, CEO Ravi, and Chief Jung Eun. I want to thank everyone for always supporting me and cheering me on. I gained a lot of strength thanks to your support." During his speech, Sung Han Bin mentioned Ravi's name because Ravi is the head of GROOVL1N, to which Studio Glide belongs.
The mention of Ravi's name by Sung Han Bin ignited a debate among netizens, questioning the appropriateness of referencing someone currently facing a two-year prison sentence for evading military service. While some netizens found it inappropriate, others argued that Sung Han Bin's mention was merely a formality and should not be viewed as a significant issue.
Netizens commented, "He made a mistake because he's young. He can correct that later," "Why did he have to mention Ravi's name? He could have just said the representative of Studio Glide or something like that?" "He's young, and he must have been nervous since this was a live broadcast," "I think he was trying to thank the staff members but he said it as a formality," "He didn't need to mention his name out loud like that," "I think we should just feel bad that Ravi happened to be the rep of his agency, lol," "He really doesn't know how to read the room," "It was a simple mistake, people leave him alone," and "he really didn't need to say Ravi's name publically like that."
like it or not he was the ceo when hanbin was a trainee and throughout the program so he did probably received a lot of encouragement and support from ravi (it’s a simple thank you putting all the public matters aside)
