"Contracts set to expire soon," What is the status of Brave Girls and what does the future hold?

AKP STAFF

Back in 2020, Brave Girls received belated popularity after their 2017 song "Rollin'" suddenly became a hit on the charts. The future was bright for the girl group as they continued gaining more popularity.

Shortly after the popularity of "Rollin'," Brave Girls released their comeback with the 5th mini-album repackage 'After We Ride.' The girls were able to make another comeback in 2021 with the EP 'Summer Queen' and solidified a title as the summer girl group of K-pop. The girls continued to become more active as they were selected to be endorsement models for various brands and continued to participate in shows, and released more albums.

Just like the Korean saying, "You need to row when the tides come in high," it seemed like Brave Girls were making good use of their belated popularity and finally becoming one of the most popular girl groups in South Korea.

Unfortunately, things seemed to have slowed down for the girl group as fans have not heard anything from Brave Entertainment concerning Brave Girls' future promotions.

In particular, Brave Girls began their US Tour in July of last year after their concert in South Korea in January 2022 was postponed due to COVID-19. Although fans in Korea have been seeking information regarding this postponed concert, they have not heard anything from Brave Entertainment.

Not only that, there have not been any clear plans or news of the girls' activities. Many fans are also disappointed because Brave Girls' YouTube channel only has new year's greeting videos and behind-the-scenes videos without any new content giving a clear update to fans. These fans are now guessing there is no definite plan for the future because Brave Girls' contracts are due to expire this year.

They have raised concerns because Brave Girls members have expressed their will to continue as a group, but fans are worried Brave Entertainment would not be able to give them the financial support to propel the girls further into their music careers.

Netizens commented, "Please re-debut, you might not be able to use the name Brave Girls but the four of you might have a better chance, and I want to see you longer," "It's amazing how the company botched this rare chance that came," "Brave Girls are talented but the agency really ruined their popularity," "This is so disappointing, they really went through so much and finally got a chance," and "I'm so upset at the agency."

I think Brave Girls will not renew, Frankly after "Rolling" the follow up song Chi Ma Ba Ram wasnt as big of a hit.

Queendom 2 results kind of showed Brave Entertainment how much Brave Girls is ranked, unless they worked with someone popular, the early rounds, BG ranked last in popularity online, their Queendom 2 MV views and live audience scores did poorly.

Queedom 2 is kind of bad, the winner WJSN didnt see much boost in popularity, neither did good luck happen to the 2nd placed LOONA, the other groups Kep1er and VIVIDZ and Hyolyn all did not score #1 wins or make any big progress to their careers compared to before the program.

maybe the choice of groups selected was the problem.. i found Queedom 2 all the groups all "Idolized" Hyolyn and no one dared to downvote her and it was too one sided...
