'Reborn Rich' viewers expressed discomfort with Song Joong Ki's excessive face filter for his portrayal of the 20-year-old version of his character.
Following the recent broadcast of JTBC's drama 'Reborn Rich', some viewers expressed discomfort with the excessive use of filter on Song Joong Ki's face during his portrayal of a character in his early twenties. 'Reborn Rich' depicts the story of Yoon Hyun Woo (played by Song Joong Ki) who lives "like a dog" for the chaebol family of Soonyang Group, only to face an unjust death. Suddenly, he reincarnates into the youngest son of the chaebol family Jin Do Joon, vowing revenge on the people responsible for his death.
Actor Kim Kang Hoon plays the child version of the reincarnated Jin Do Joon, and Song Joong Ki, who is currently 37 years old, plays the 20-year-old version of Jin Do Joon. With the recently broadcast 3rd episode of 'Reborn Rich', many noticed that the face filter on Song Joong Ki seemed to be a bit excessive, and expressed that it broke their immersion into the drama. However, others defended Song Joong Ki by commenting, "I saw it as a filter usually used for a flashback scene".
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki has also previously been embroiled in a "excessive face filter" controversy during his appearance in tvN's drama 'Vincenzo'.
