It's been a little bit more than one week since the release of Jin's first solo single, "The Astronaut." However, it's already clear that he made one of the most successful K-pop solo debuts in history. 

Jin is only the second member of BTS to make an official solo debut. He broke numerous records locally and globally on its first day and week already.

On November 7, his results on the Billboard charts were finally announced. Jin truly had the highest competition in his tracking week against Rihanna, Taylor Swift, SZA, and other western artists. Unlike them, Jin gained 0 points for radio play, but gathered almost 50M streams and over 60k sales. He now holds the record for the biggest number of sales for a K-pop solo debut.

Despite everything, his soulful 5 minutes long pop-rock track 'The Astronaut' performed extremely amazingly on the Billboard charts.

Jin occupied the Billboard World Digital Song Sales with 4 of his self-written tracks:

The artist also scored #1 on the Digital Song Sales chart surpassing Rihanna's 'Lift me up". Jin became the first BTS member to simultaneously chart on both Billboard Global 200 and Global 200 Excl. US Top 10 as a lead artist as well. "The Astronaut" is also the first Korean song by a Korean male solo act to chart in the Top 10 of the Billboard Global 200 chart!

The fans are celebrating Jin's huge achievement on the Billboard Hot100 chart. 'The Astronaut' now holds the record for the highest debut for a solo song by a K-pop artist of the decade. Only PSY's 'Gentleman' charted higher than Jin back in 2013. Jin made history!

Jin scored a high place being a Korean singer, with a song in the Korean language, against the biggest western artists, proving that he is an insanely successful individual artist.
