Over the course of many years, fans have been able to receive live renditions of their favorite Korean comics (manhwa), but rarely do we get to see anime be revised into live-action! So here are seven anime series that would make great drama remakes!
1. "Romantic Killer": A young high school girl who never had an interest in relationships or love, in general, finds her three greatest guilty pleasures: cats, chocolate, and video games to be taken away by a magical fairy! The twist? To get these guilty pleasures back, she needs to form a romantic relationship to feel what true love actually is!
2. "Kamisama Kiss": Through a series of unfortunate events, Nanami ends up saving a man from an accident only to find herself rewarded with a house as a thank-you for the rescue, but this house isn't unlike any other regular home, for it's a rundown shrine. Get ready for a series full of fantasy and romance!
3. "Fruits Basket": Now fans have gotten "Boy Over Flowers" as a live rendition, but nothing beats the classic like "Fruits Basket." A story based on the zodiac signs; it'd be great to see how drama producers would make all the characters turn into their respective zodiac signs!
4. "Yona of the Dawn": Action-packed and wonderful characters; imagine a star-studded lineup too, and this drama would be the be-all-end-all! A princess who finds out that the person she loves isn't who he really is, a guard who loves the heroine, betrayal of best friends, the list is endless!
5. "Spy Family": For sure, this would make a very interesting drama plotline if it was revised as a K-drama. With an undercover spy, an undercover assassin, and a little orphan girl with mind-reading powers, what isn't there to love about this storyline?
6. "A Silent Voice": While not an animated series but rather a movie, "Your Voice" focuses on a girl who has been bullied because of her impaired hearing. A few years pass, and those that bullied her take efforts to amend their past actions. With the pace of the movie, this would make a great melodramatic, contemporary K-drama!
7. "Free! Iwatobi Swim Club": Why is it that there aren't as many sports-based dramas out there? Out of those that have been released, it's rare to see it become a huge hit. K-dramas fans have been able to watch a fencing drama through "Twenty One Twenty Five," a cheerleading drama from "Cheer Up," and badminton from "Racket Boys," but fans have yet to see a drama solely based on swimming! "Free!" would make great summer season drama, don't you think?
There are so many animes out there that would make great K-dramas. Hopefully, we can see them be re-created in the future!
Animes when adapted should be treated meticulously with details and also with high budget. If not then just no
