Blackpink member Lisa has made history not only with her band but also as a solo artist. While the group prepares to make their long-awaited return, Lisa is still breaking records with her solo single, LaLisa, which was released last year.
Lisa released her debut single album, LaLisa, on September 10, 2021, along with a music video. Back then, the song charted at number two on the Billboard Global 200 and number 84 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Later that month, a dance performance video for the B-side track, Money, was also released.
On August 3, the song LaLisa topped Billboard's Hot Trending Songs chart powered by Twitter for the week ending August 6. This marks Lisa as the first-ever female artist to rank atop this chart since its launch.
According to Twitter, the song received a 45 percent increase and 1.5 million mentions during the tracking week of July 22-28. Billboard also shared the chart details on the official account.
LaLisa is the seventh song to top the Hot Trending Songs chart since its launch in October 2021. It is also the only song to have remained on the chart since its debut 41 weeks ago.
While BLINKs are overjoyed that Lisa's song has topped the charts, this isn't the only reason to rejoice, as LaLisa was recently nominated for the Best K-Pop category in the upcoming 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.
Meanwhile, the music video surpassed 500 million views on YouTube in June, a record time for a K-pop female solo act.
Lisa will be always famous and created multiple records as soloist 😍
