The cast of Netflix's original series 'Squid Game' appeared on the popular American talk show 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,' garnering attention from viewers all across the globe.
Actors Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, Wi Ha Joon, and Jung Ho Yeon appeared on the show on October 6 and met with Jimmy Fallon, the host for the night show.
When Jimmy Fallon asked Park Hae Soo, "When did you realize the show became so big," the actor made everyone laugh by responding, "Right now." He added, "I am so thankful that so many folks are watching this through so many media outlets. But I feel it even more at this very moment, it's real, I feel it in my bones."
The host then went to ask Wi Ha Joon, "What do you think people around the world are connecting to?" and the actor responded, "I definitely think part of the appeal is the Korean children's games. That can be very original, refreshing, and also shocking at the same time to the global viewers. I also feel like we did a good job expressing the true human nature of raw greed and human nature that took place inside the games, which I believe resonates with a lot of the audiences.
Jimmy Fallon also brought up the topic about the giant 'Greenlight, Redlight' robot that was seen during the first episode. He revealed that the doll is based on a character seen in Korean textbooks. Actress Jung Ho Yeon elaborated that there are two characters seen in almost all Korean textbooks - the boy is named 'Cheolsoo,' and the girl is named 'Younghee' - and the female robot is based on the female character.
All the actors gained much attention as they spoke about various aspects of the show. In particular, many international fans stated they were not able to recognize Lee Jung Jae because of the clean-cut, sleek visuals he boasted on the talk show. The overseas fans praised the actor for looking so good in a suit with his hair sleeked back.
If they saw him young, they will even not believe that clean version of Lee Jung Jae is him XD
