Hello guys! I’ve seen many posts and videos surrounding the topic of girl groups and songs that fans think should/could see a resurgence in popularity, like “Rollin” by Brave Girls.
Today I have compiled a list of 7 girl group songs that I think are pretty underrated and would love to see be promoted again!
1. Lemon Candy by Pink Fantasy (MyDoll Entertainment)
This song actually just came out this year in January, and the group promoted quite a bit on music shows. But their M/Vs and practice videos don’t have very many views. Their members have adorable charms, and I really like the choreography for “Lemon Candy” (they even have a hidden member named Daehwang, who the company says will not reveal her face until the group receives number #1.
2. Don’t Stop by Mercury (Goan Entertainment)
Mercury is a four (previously three) member girl group who made their anticipated debut on March 7th, 2016 but didn’t gain much traction or promotion due to the controversy over member Hanbit (who is transgender). The girls, however, never officially disbanded and were even seen getting together for a medium back in January.
3. S.O.R.R.Y by GIRLKIND (Next Level Entertainment)
Released back in the summer of 2018, this song has the ultimate chill summer vibe to it. I love how the video is filmed outside by the beach instead of on a lot of big electronic sets. For some reason, this song gives me a 2NE1 and a little bit of a SISTAR vibe. Definitely check this song out!
4. KKILI KKILI by G-Reyish (BIGOCEAN ENM)
G-Reyish actually just got done promoting their latest single, “Breath;(Blood Night), about two weeks ago on music shows. Each of their releases has had a different theme to it, but I think BBN fits them really well! “KKILI KKILI” is definitely a major hop; however, that will give you major nostalgic vibes.
5. Tic Toc by (Neon Punch/XUM) (A100 Entertainment)
NeonPunch was a 5 member girl group that debuted on June 27, 2018, with their debut album ‘MOONLIGHT.’ They also debuted in China with the Chinese version of “MOONLIGHT.” They disbanded in August 2020, but members Baekah, Dayeon, and Iaan re-debuted as XUM in September 2020.
6. DDALALA by XUM (A100 Entertainment)
Speaking of XUM, they are the next group on the list. I love the pop/EDM vibe of this song, as well as the cool choreography. The group, however, didn’t much on music shows. Please give them lots of love and support! They also released an OST for the television drama “Please don’t meet him (재발 남자 만나지 마요).
7. The Gangnam Avenue (강남가리) (Pledis Entertainment)
If you’ve been into K-Pop for a while, you definitely know who Orange Caramel is. They’ve had hits such as “Catellena” and “Lipstick.” “The Gangnam Avenue,” however, didn’t get much promotion as it is a B side on their single album “My Copycat.” This song is such a feminine anthem, and I’m obsessed with it every time I play it.
SONAMOO was also a great group.... just a terrible company. Friday Night by SONAMOO is still just such a jam man
