BTS Jungkook just recently dropped his latest selca on Twitter and the internet was shook.
It was another one of his signature mirror selfies, only this time he was seen wearing a beanie, looking as stunning as ever. His post’s caption is translated to “ARMY I miss you.”
Jungkook trended worldwide at #1 on Twitter.“I MISS YOU TOO,” which was the fans’ reply to Jungkook’s caption was also trending worldwide.
Jungkook also entered the trends in the United States and trended at #1 on Twipple Japan. The ‘Lamodechief’ sweatshirt which he was seen wearing was the #1 real-time trending product under all categories on South Korea’s No.1 online fashion store, Musinsa.
What’s even more impressive is Jungkook’s mind-blowing impact in attracting new fans. BTS’s Twitter account daily new followers had experienced a sudden surge. On the day of Jungkook’s post, BTS’s Twitter account had gained 47,943 new followers, almost twice the daily average of 26,709. It was also the highest followers gain in April 2021 so far.
This isn’t the first time something like this happened as Jungkook’s previous tweet, his blue-hair selca post had caused BTS to gain 100,000 new followers in just 2 days, a huge spike compared to other days.
Jungkook did the same thing with his “Never Not” tweet, and the matter was even addressed by Billboard K-pop columnist Jeff Benjamin. He said, “The #JungkookEffect? The day Jungkook uploaded his cover of @Lauvsongs' "Never Not" on @BTS_twt, the account earned an additional 46,000 new Twitter followers. That's more than double than their usual growth!”
