According to insider reports on March 11, "Some of the members of IZ*ONE and their entertainment agencies are disappointed with the fact that the group will disband. Some members are considering creating either a unit group, or another type of project group to continue promotions, with discussions currently under way. Some agencies are positively considering unit promotions with a few willing members."
Born out of Mnet's idol survival program 'Produce 48', IZ*ONE will disband as a group this coming April, after promoting for 2 years and 8 months. Up until recently, the members and their agencies took part in several dialogues to consider extending IZ*ONE's contract. However, not all of the agencies were able to come to an agreement, and so the project group has decided to disband.
Even if some of the members and their companies conclude that they would like to continue the name of IZ*ONE as a unit group or a different project group, the process will still pose various difficulties that need resolving, including the establishment of a contract agreed by all parties involved.
Yujin and Wonyoung won't definitely be a part of the unit group, Starship is gearing up to debut them with a new girlgroup this year.
