Park Jimin, the lead vocalist and the main dancer in BTS, set another major record as his solo song "Filter" become the highest-ranking BTS solo song in LINE Music Japan (one of the largest streaming platform in Japan).
LINEMusic is a subscription-based music streaming service by LINE Corporation that combines the LINE Messenger app with the entertainment system that users not only can stream the music on-demand, but users can share the music directly to LINE Messenger.
Aside from "Filter," which ranked at #59, his self-produced track "Friends" ranks even higher at #23. Known for his exceptional producing skills as well as his immense popularity, "Friends" has been featured in multiple television shows in Japan as well as charting in Billboard Japan Hot 100.
Prior to his LINE Music record, it was reported that "Filter" became the highest-charting solo by a boy group on MelOn Yearly Chart in 2020. This also makes "Filter" as BTS's highest-charting solo song ever on the platform. In addition to that, "Friends" also charted at #70 next to "Filter," which charted at #77.
"Filter" by Jimin is the Highest solo song by a boygroup and BTS' highest solo song ever on MelOn Yearly Chart🎉
Previously he also set a record as he became the first member to have both solo song and self-produced track to be nominated for February "Song of The Year" in Gaon Chart Music Awards with "Filter" and "Friends."
Congratulations to our talented Jimin on being the first BTS member to have both a solo song and produced song nominated for the GaonChart Music Awards!👏
We are so proud of you and hope you got to see this nomination
Up until now, Jimin has set countless records with "Filter" alone. From streams, charts, and sales, he takes it all—congratulations Jimin for another outstanding achievement.
