In a recent Korean Times interview with Danke, a team of lyricists behind Filter and composed of Park Woohyun, Lee Heeju, and Kim Soobin, they revealed the writing process for BTS Jimin’s worldwide hit.

Without hesitation, Lee Heeju said that it was the perfect performance of Jimin during BTS’s MOTS ON:E online concert that completed the song. She said;

“Thanks to Jimin performance, we felt like “Filter” finally came to perfection. Jimin has a very soft voice, but a guide singer’s version sounded a bit mature. So we wanted to make “Filter” sound both refreshing and sexy. Big Hit Entertainment is a label that often uses characteristic and uncommon words in the lyrics. So we attempted to use more provocative words than normal.

“Jimin was so capable. I felt like I was watching a musical performance. I thought Filter finally came to perfection thanks to his jaw-dropping gig.”

Undoubtedly, Jimin’s remarkable and iconic “Filter” stage made the song even more legendary. It was earlier reported that Jimin’s performance was one of the most highly anticipated from BTS’s online concert. The production of the “Filter” stage is very well thought of. Jimin went to be bold and brave with Filter and showcased not only his exceptional talent in dancing but also incorporated his love for fashion.

Apart from dominating the worldwide trends in different online sites after Jimin’s Filter live performance, several reactors also paid keen attention.

Vocal coach “Jakepop,” in his reaction video, analyzed Jimin’s amazing vocal techniques and stage presence. Likewise, he said that non-BTS fans who will see the video of Jimin’s Filter live stage for the first time will mistakenly think that Jimin is a solo artist and that his performance is so breathtaking.

Lastly, Kim Do-Heon, editor-in-chief of the popular music webzine IZM praised Jimin’s Filter stage. In his review of BTS’s online concert, he said, “Their solo stage was also good, especially Jimin’s Filter was amazing.”
