Netizens and Koreans alike will finally be able to see the real inside of club 'Burning Sun'.
Many Koreans have come to know about the club through 'Burning Sun Gate' where former Big Bang member Seungri was embroiled in a series of scandals from drug use, embezzlement, prostitution, police collusion, sexual assault, drug trafficking and more.
A new film 'Quantum Physics' scheduled to be released in September actually rented out space at 'Burning Sun' and filmed most scenes there. They reportedly filmed at the club towards end of 2018 when 'Burning Sun' was still in business.
Coincidentally, the film 'Quantum Physics', which captures the inside of Burning Sun before its closure, tells the story of celebrity drug use and their related political connections. Many are paying attention to whether the film was based on 'Burning Sun' activities since they rented out the space to film a lot of scenes there.
'Quantum Physics' released a trailer for the film on the 30th and many netizens were shocked about the nature of the story line as well as the location used to film the scenes speculating that the film seemed to be mimic allegations from Seungri's 'Burning Sun' scandal.
In the trailer released, the main stage at Burning Sun as well as the infamous 100 million won 'Mansour Set' is highlighted. Many netizens pointed out that the 'Mansour Set' especially is well recognized as a signature for 'Burning Sun' so filmmakers highlighting this particular prop during the trailer is very telling.
A film official confirmed that they indeed shot scenes for the film at 'Burning Sun' stating, "In late 2018, we went looking for several famous club spaces to rent for the film. We ended up picking 'Burning Sun' but this is before the scandal erupted. We were not aware of any unsavory happenings at the club at the time of filming until early this year when the scandal broke."
When asked whether the film is based on 'Burning Sun' scandal, the official said, "We can't really confirm which scene is based on what. But you can watch it for yourself in detail when it's released, " raising curiosity.
'Quantum Physics' will be released in theaters in Korea in September and tvN's Park Hae-Soo and OCN's Seo Yeji reportedly co-starred in the film.
