A lawyer in charge of the case said that the reason that Seungri's arrest warrant was requested this late was that he wanted to prove the charges of additional crimes other than prostitution.

Seungri's arrest warrant was requested after 17 interrogations at the police station.

One lawyer said "in order for the arrest warrant to be requested, the seriousness of the crime needs to be acknowledged. The charges of facilitating prostitution is imprisonment of fewer than 3 years and a fine of less than 30 million won (~26K USD). The punishment is lower than I thought."

The lawyer added, "I think that the reason that it took so long to issue an arrest warrant was because I wanted to prove additional charges to increase the probability of him getting arrested for good."
