Actress Park Han Byul has apologized for her husband Yoo In Suk's involvement in Seungri and Jung Joon Young's chatroom controversy.
The controversial chatroom has been linked to solicitation and procurement of prostitution, police cover-ups, and more, and public outrage has been strong enough for some viewers to petition for Park Han Byul's exit from the MBC drama 'Love in Sadness'. On March 19, the actress released the statement below:
"First of all, I'm truly sorry for causing people to worry due to the recent controversies, incidents, and suspicions involving my husband. While I knew I can't separate myself from things that happened in the past of the person I'm spending the rest of my life with even if they are irrelevant to my life, I was going to be careful about what to say since the investigation is ongoing. I apologize.
The reason I'm continuing to film the drama in the midst of these controversies is because of the promise I made with people, such as the production company, the network, my agency, and more. Despite what has been aired so far, we are currently filming the last parts of the drama because filming began last year.
Because it's my role to portray the life of Ma Ri without disturbing the flow of the drama, I and everyone else who shares the same opinion decided to try our best until the end eventhough it may be difficult, and we're filming with responsibility in mind.
While they should be focusing on the drama only, many people are spending their time and thoughts concerned about me. Because I feel very apologetic about everything and I don't want to cause more trouble, I'm putting more effort into filming even though I'm suffering and going through tough times that make me feel like I'm dying. There is no other way to repay these people I'm grateful for.
I think life is a journey of becoming more mature and learning to straighten things out through experiences with age. I'm feeling responsible for all of the controversies, and no matter what results come out at the end, I will consider this as the process of guiding my family to walk the right path. After concluding this drama, I'll take time to look back at my life and try to live an honest life as a mother and a wife.
Finally, I sincerely thank everyone who is supporting 'Love in Sadness' and me. I bow my head and apologize once again for the many people who are criticizing me amidst these social controversies related to my family."
Idk..I don’t think guilty with association is the right path to take. But also I’m glad she finally addressed what was happening, going about your work and pretending nothing is happening seems kinda wrong.
She’s really unlucky with the type of men she dates though, like damn
