The 32-year-old male fan who sent death threats to actor Wang Suk Hyun (16) has been sentenced to 1 year of penal servitude.
According to Star News, on January 24, the man attended the trial at Seoul Eastern District Court with his legal representative.
The man admitted to threatening Wang Suk Hyun, and said, "I got to know Wang Suk Hyun through the drama 'Can't Live Without You' in 2012 and I wanted to get close to him. I went to his school, got close to him and found out his number." The man claimed he started threatening Wang Suk Hyun because the teen actor "betrayed" him.
The man's legal representative explained, "The man has admitted to his crime and is reflecting on his actions. He went to the victim's school to give him a birthday gift but he was rejected and also heard curse words from the victims' friends. He was hurt by the victim after getting rejected but he did not have any contact with the victim afterward. He committed the crime after seeing Wang Suk Hyun on TV."
The lawyer asked for forgiveness, stating, "The man is suffering from Asperger syndrome. The man actually does have a low social mental age. His parents are also working hard to reach a settlement with the agency. Please give forgiveness." The lawyer lastly added, "He was out of his mind since age 20. We will make sure he doesn't come to court again."
In December, the man called Wang Suk Hyun's school and agency and stated, "I will kill Wang Suk Hyun." He was arrested by the police 2 days after the call. During the police investigation, the man stated, "I'm a longtime fan of Wang Suk Hyun but he wouldn't meet me, so I decided on the crime."
I got to know this guy through this article and want to get close to him too. I also have a birthday gift for him and he better not reject me but now I feel betrayed cause he's stalking Wang Suk Hyun instead of me. Now I must wait patiently while he "reflects on his actions", I'll be thinking about him till he gets out, can't wait to surprise him with his present ^^
