Fans of girl group Playback are worried the group has disbanded without notice. Suspicion arose after, on the 4th of January, OD Entertainment released the debut trailer for their new girl group 'Pink Ladies' and Playback's leader Hwang Woolim was introduced as one of the members.
Playback debuted in 2015 under Clear Company as a four member girl group consisting of Woolim, Hayoung, Yujin and Yunji. They released their debut single Playback and their first comeback 'I Wonder' (which featured Eric Nam) under this company. The company was then sold to Tyler Kwon, who changed the company's name to Coridel Entertainment and signed former SNSD member Jessica in 2015. Fans hoped this would mean Playback would get to promote more and would have a comeback soon.
This comeback did not happen until 2017, when Playback re-introduced member Ma Eunjin to their line-up. Eunjin was in the pre-debut line-up for the girl group, but had to leave the group ahead of debut due to rumors of her being an EXO saesang were spread. She started a lawsuit against the ones who spread the rumors before rejoining the group. She got to make her solo debut in 2017 before the group's official comeback and then debuted with the group with the release of 'Want You To Say'. The group confirmed they would not be promoting the song due to their participation on MIXNINE, which became one of their last appearances as group. The group hasn't been active on any of there social media since February 2018.
And now that Woolim is re-debuting, without Coridel Entertainment even giving a statement on her departure from the group, fans are worried about Playback's future. Whether Playback will continue with four members or has disbanded is a question that has yet to be answered.
Sure hope not, such an underrated group. It's such a shame that talented groups like this go by without any notice.
