A Kyung Hee University professor was sentenced to prison and arrested in court after being found guilty of providing preferential treatment to certain graduate school applicants, including CNBLUE's Yonghwa.
On October 8, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced 50 year-old Professor 'Lee' to ten months of prison for obstruction of business.
Back in January, it was found that the convicted professor approved Yonghwa for admission to the university's Graduate School of Arts despite not attending the admissions interview or submitting his application in on time. As a result, the singer's admission was ultimately canceled.
Meanwhile, Yonghwa released an official statement last March apologizing for his involvement in the case.
