The Japanese idol star will be taking a hiatus from AKB48 to promote with IZ*ONE until 2021, and she said her goodbye to her fans in Japan. On September 25, Sakura Miyawaki wrote on Twitter:
"What I learned on 'Produce 48' was different than what I learned in 48. I even made new precious friends. I'll carry HKT48 on my back as I venture overseas, and I'll return to HKT48 after receiving a lot of love as IZ*ONE. I don't want to tell you to wait for me. I hope that you cheer me on like always after I've become part of IZ*ONE. I think IZ*ONE will have reasons to promote in Japan as well. Please come to see us. I haven't graduated from HKT. I'll do my best and risk my life for myself and my group for a while."
In related news, Sakura Miyawaki is joining IZ*ONE as one of 12 finalists from Mnet's 'Produce 48'. IZ*ONE are due to debut in October.
