In light of the release of their 2nd preview album 'Boy Boy Boy', Newkidd held an introductory interview and shared their casting stories, role models, etc!
Jinkwon began, "My role model is EXO sunbaemin. I wanted to become a singer after watching 'EXO's Showtime', and got cast through auditions." Hwi said, "I started dreaming of becoming a singer since I was 5 years old, watching BoA sunbaenim. I went to various auditions before being cast in Newkidd."
Next, Hansol shared, "When I was younger, I liked TVXQ sunbaenims." Here, when asked about his fame for being a past SM trainee, Hansol added, "I'm not as disappointed that I didn't get to debut in SM, I'm more disappointed that I didn't get to debut with the other trainee friends. But now, I got to meet the great dongsaengs of Newkidd, so I'm happy."
On his casting story, Woochul revealed, "I was a part of dance clubs. In elementary school, I covered Crayon Pop's 'Bar Bar Bar', and in middle school, I covered BTS sunbaenims. And then, I got street casted." Yoonmin likewise relayed that he was cast on the streets while working as a model. Finally, Jiahn shared, "I started playing classical piano when i was 4 years old. When I was 6, I received awards at competitions. Afterward, I saw singers on TV and started liking them, even though the music was different from my classical piano. At the time, I weighed 80kgs, and my parents said I could become a singer if I lost weight so I lost 20 kgs. Even now, I'm working hard to maintain my weight."
