In the above video, DMEANOR collaborates with Korean hip-hop veteran Swings for a track that, while considerably positive sounding, has the sonic depth of R&B mega-star the Weeknd. DMEANOR sounds like a seasoned artist in his comfort zone, crooning in Korean but weaving in and out of a diverse cast of dancers. It's K-Pop, but it's fundamentally grown & sexy in a way that we've come to expect from standout stars like DEAN.
As noted before, it's definitely clear that DMEANOR aims to have crossover appeal between the Western and Korean music markets, and he delivered on this ambition early on in the form of a collaboration with American rapper Schoolboy Q. The track is somewhere between cloud-rap, future bass, and vaporwave - a multilingual posse cut that reaches across all sorts of musical aisles.
DMEANOR's appeal doesn't stop at modern R&B, as he's already managed to score an OST appearance for the Korean drama 'If We Were A Season.' He switches it up for this track, singing in English but doing it over traditional heartwarming Korean ballad instrumentation.
Even though his career is in its infancy, DMEANOR is showing the signs that he'll be a household name in a matter of time. His musical chops are strong, with the ability to appeal to fans of many styles that will surely help him build up a unique and memorable discography.
