MBC's 'Radio Star' and host Kim Gu Ra have apologized for his statements about entertainer Kim Saeng Min.
On the August 30th episode, Kim Gu Ra jokingly accused Kim Saeng Min of being a penny-pinching miser when Kim Saeng Min revealed the lengths he goes to in order to save money for his family. Some viewers who were angry with the exchange called for Kim Gu Ra's leave from the show with a petition, which has currently gathered over 10,000 signatures.
A rep from 'Radio Star' officially apologized, stating, "To the viewers who watched the episode on the 30th and felt uncomfortable, we sincerely apologize. We'll invite Kim Saeng Min as a guest once again in the near future and have positive content prepared."
Kim Gu Ra's agency also stated, "Though this was not the intention at all, we sincerely apologize to viewers who felt uncomfortable. Kim Gu Ra has already contacted Kim Saeng Min to apologize personally. They're actually close, and the atmosphere was good before filming. They spoke to each other comfortably, and it was fine at the time. However, it seems to have come across in a way that made viewers uncomfortable. We apologize."
