On August 18, G-Dragon donated 81.8 million KRW ($71,633.90 USD) to UNHCR. The artist and his fans are famous for frequently donating to many different places such as the Children's Hospital and UN Refugee Agency. This year was no different, as he donated to the agency once again.

The generous contribution he made will be going toward the 'Global Shelter Campaign'. This campaign began in May of 2016 and has helped over 2 million people.

Since the report, G-Dragon explained his reason for the donation, "I hope to live in a peaceful world. My heart aches when I see children who had to evacuate due to violence and civil wars. I want to show them my sincerity by giving them a place to rest even if it's only for a moment." He continued, "Peace cannot be achieved only by thinking, but instead, can be achieved through a collective effort."
