On March 6, a middle-aged woman went to go see a Buddhist monk residing at Dongguk University and she handed the monk around 200 million KRW.
The woman is said to be a devout Buddhist and did not want to identify herself. She commented, "Giving is like planting a beautiful seed in the world. I hope that this money will be used by Dongguk University to further enrich their students so that our society can flourish even more."
She added, "Rather, I apologize for donating after such a lengthy period of time." After handing over the money, the woman took the large envelope which had contained the 200 million KRW and said, "I will return with more money inside of this envelope once again."
Hearing about such generous deeds, the chancellor of Dongguk University was about to express his gratitude when the woman said, "I have only done a small thing."
In order to fulfill the wishes of the good samaritan, the donation will be going towards funding for student scholarships.
