The boys' announced the unit name and shared the logo of the promoting unit via their official SNS. The notice read,

"The "Naming Contest" Event for BOYS24's first promotional team which was chosen through 'BOYS24 SEMI FINAL' last Mar 5 was held on BOYS24's official fanclub, and finally 'UNIT BLACK' was selected as its team name from many entries.

UNIT BLACK, as a new unit of BOYS24 [currently] holding live concert with four units, shows 'chic and impressive' like a black color. UNIT BLACK will reach the top with their uniqueness.

The official logo of UNIT BLACK shows BOYS24's first promotional team, [as well as] UNIT BLACK's huge ambition, [in] that the members' potential might form a better synergy as letters form words which have meaning.

With releasing a new single album in April, they will start to show you their performances in various fields, so please give a lot of support and love for the BOYS24's first promotional team, UNIT BLACK."

Although 9 members were chosen to promote in UNIT BLACK initially, member Jin Sung Ho decided to step down from his place in UNIT BLACK, after malicious rumors went around online. Stay tuned for more info on their new single!
