President Park Geun Hye's whereabouts were unaccounted for 7 hours while the Sewol Ferry was sinking. The 7 unaccounted hours from the morning of 10 AM on April 16, 2014 to 5:15 PM was heavily questioned by the public, and the most recent revelation of how the President spent 90 minutes while rescue workers, families and others were frantically trying to save the victims is making the families of victims outraged.
On December 6, The Hankyoreh reported that the President was getting her hair done for about 90 minutes before showing up in front of the camera. The stylist who was called to the presidential Blue House also testified that she was instructed to make it seem like the President showed up in a hurry, by making the up-do messier than usual.

A mother of a victim who died in the ship, Goh Young Hee, could not hide her anger against the President during her interview with a CBS radio show on December 7. She said, "She intentionally got that hair done? I want to rip her hair out...We were told everyone was rescued...We ran over there to find our children..I ran out the door with a hat on my head and with whatever I was wearing."
"She wasted time doing her hair so she could put on a show," the mother cried out.
