On September 19, the city of Gyeongju experienced an aftershock with a magnitude of 4.5 at 8:33 PM KST. Then, this September 21 at 11:53 PM KST, another with a magnitude of 3.5 halted classes in schools and forced students to take cover.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) stated, "We are confirming damages. Because there is a probability that additional aftershocks can occur, please stay up to date on special advisories."
Officials did assure that these aftershocks are unlikely to lead to any more large-scale earthquakes in the near future.
