The controversy took place back in 2013, during one of VIXX's 'VIXX TV' clips uploaded on their official Youtube channel. Members Ravi and N were shopping in Japan and picked up a few hats with images similar to the rising star flag on them. Soon after the issue arose, Jellyfish Entertainment issued a statement of apology, admitting the mistake of failing to edit out a scene that may cause controversy.�

Fans claimed that thanks to the SBS News report, the issue has not only come to light again, but many�people who watched the news without knowing that the event took place 3 years ago now have negative views toward VIXX, who are making a comeback�this week with "Fantasy". When fans attempted to call SBS about the issue, the broadcasting station supposedly claimed they didn't know anything.�

There's also a debate between netizens on whether the symbol on the hats is actually a rising sun flag, or a�VF-111 American fighter squadron flag.�
