Meanwhile, Seoul Sinmun reported that Anyang Dongan Police Station have arrested the man, who was identified as a 37-year-old name Cho. According to Seoul Sinmun, as employees of the same supermarket, the perpetrator and victim were on good terms. However, Cho blew his lid one day when the woman allegedly dropped her honorifics toward him, leading him to hurl random objects at her and strike her face four times.
Police have booked Cho without detention and revealed that they recommended prosecution to charge him for a count of simple battery. Police further stated, "The victim didn't confess that the perpetrator sexually harassed her. We're planning to reinvestigate the case to find out whether she wasn't able to confess to any sexual assault [from Cho] because she was threatened or felt fearful [of repercussions]."
