An army captain who served at Kangwon Province's front line unit is under investigation for suspicions of raping a middle school girl multiple times.
An ROK Army unit revealed this past June 27 that they are currently investigating the 32-year-old captain for charges of allegedly raping a middle school girl multiple times within the province.
The captain is suspected of raping a middle school girl he met through a chatting app for a period spanning from December 2015 to March 2016 while he was employed at Kangwon Province's front line unit. According to Huffington Post Korea, the captain, who used to serve as an executive officer, was transferred to a South Jeolla Province unit in March.

The captain is also suspected of blackmailing the girl by threatening to leak videos and photos he took as he raped her.
The victim only reported the incident recently, and the provost marshal of the captain's current unit is investigating the case. The captain was reported to have denied the charges of rape.
