According to the official 'Summer Sonic' website on April 9th KST, K-pop group (G)I-DLE is set to perform for the first time at Summer Sonic 2025, one of Japan’s premier music festivals. The group will appear on stages in Tokyo’s ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe, as well as Osaka’s Expo ’70 Commemorative Park on August 16th and 17th.

Rising rookie girl group izna, which debuted last year, is also part of the dual-city lineup. Despite having debuted only four months ago, izna has made impressive strides, landing features in major Japanese magazines and topping domestic album charts. Their appearance at Summer Sonic signals growing momentum for the rookie act.

JYP Entertainment’s NiziU will also take the stage, performing in Osaka on the 16th and Tokyo on the 17th. As a representative of JYP’s cross-national K-pop strategy, NiziU’s participation further strengthens the label’s influence in Japan’s pop landscape.

Additionally, globally popular K-band The Rose, who previously performed at Coachella, will showcase their artistry in both cities during the same dates, bringing a live-band flair to the lineup.

First held in 2000, Summer Sonic has become a flagship event in Japan, drawing massive attention from fans across Asia and beyond. The 2025 edition boasts a diverse lineup, including Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, Fall Out Boy, and British electronic legends The Prodigy.

Other K-pop acts aespa, KATSEYE, and rapper Lee Young Ji have also been previously confirmed, setting the stage for a strong Korean presence at the global festival.
