'Reply 1988' saw great success ever since it first aired, with viewership ratings that shot through the roof, an impressive feat for a series on a cable channel (tvN).
The drama's viewership wasn't the only element that rose to new heights; its advertising rates were also quite lofty in comparison to other TV shows, including the vastly popular 'Infinity Challenge.'
According to entertainment industry insiders, the ad rates for 'Reply 1988' were comparative to that of 'Infinity Challenge,' whose earnings from a single ad amount to around 12.5 million KRW (~$10,200 USD). The drama also was a leader in ads that aired in between the episode, and were said to be as expensive as the ads that aired on large networks such as MBC, KBS, and SBS.

Since its premiere in November, the drama has sold all of its ad slots, amounting to over 17 billion KRW (~$14 million) in earnings, something that the previous 'Reply' series weren't able to achieve.
Further, 'Reply 1988's video-on-demand (VOD) sales topped various VOD services, surpassing 5 billion KRW (~$4.1 million USD).
It is speculated that including VOD sales and advertising profits, the drama raked in over 22 billion KRW (~$18.1 million USD) in revenue. This number is not counting profits from the drama's OST.
The actors who starred in the drama have now become a mainstay in CFs, their faces plastered and seen all over in advertising campaigns. Girl's Day's Hyeri in particular, who played a lead role in the drama as the lovable 'Deok Sun,' was said to have earned up to 6 billion KRW (~$4.9 million USD) as a model for over 20 advertisements.
