Fans all over the world were surprised in the best way possible when rapper Alexandra Reid joined girl group RaNia, becoming the very first African-American member in a K-pop girl group.
We've heard a bit of her thoughts on joining RaNia at the group's showcase, but you can also read much more in detail about how she discovered K-pop and how she feels about debuting in a K-pop group on her personal blog post!
That's right, if you didn't know already, Alexandra Reid has her very own blog, called 'Being Alex Reid', and her latest post is titled 'Being in Love with K-pop'.
In her blog post, she talks about her personal story of discovering K-pop on YouTube back in 2009. Her first K-pop video was Ivy's "Sonata of Temptation"! She talks about how she loves how the 'genuine superstar' still exists in the K-pop world, and how lucky she felt to discover this 'secret music'.
And she sounds so excited as she describes how her daily life is like now in Seoul, as part of RaNia. She describes how "this is literally a dream come true," and says this is "something I fantasized about, but never believed could come to fruition because it had never been done by someone with my background before."
