ZICO - "YES OR NO"
Rapper Zico of Block B has dropped his new single, "Yes or No." While this song has been around for months, he's passed some of the rapping duties on to special guest stars Penemeco and The Quiett for this release. Zico wrote the track himself.
This hip hop song has a pounding, powerful beat, and Zico and The Quiett, like usual, kill it. The flow is nice, at least til it gets midway through. The odd man out is Penemeco. I can't say anything good about him, his squeaky voice sounds like a constipated guy who inhaled too much helium.
The lyrics are pretty playful, and anything but serious:
"Tell me yes or no, yes or no.
Quick yes or no! Do you love it? Thanks a lot
Tell me yes or no, yes or no.
Quick yes or no! That's funny! What the heck am I doing?"
MV REVIEW
Check out this CGI short featuring Zico as a digital animation!
While this is an official MV, it's too short to feel like one. It's just the first minute of the song with some computer animation tricks. It seems to be more like a teaser than anything else, but there are some nice effects in there mixed in with rather cartoonish ideas. I got a chuckle of the scene where he's playing with kitchen utensils, with the fork as violin, in a concept ripped straight from Block B's "I'm Good" MV.
Clocking in at 1:32 seconds, it just feels like a fanmade teaser. The graphics are more Sims-inspired than anything, and slightly cheesy. If it were a Sims mod, though, I would totally download it, especially if it came with some Zico tracks. Frankly, I was hoping for a bit more from Zico, given the crazy music videos Block B comes out with. My verdict: meh.
